Some members of the First Baptist Church in Concord relocated to Richmond Avenue in Graniteville as the
North Baptist Church and there started a cemetery (Hillside); later in the 19th century,
some members of the second church split off into the Graniteville (or First) Baptist Church on Willowbrook Road. There they
established a small cemetery that grew into Lake Cemetery and this was also known as First Baptist Church Cemetery. Both later
churches and cemeteries stem from the original Old Clove Baptist or First Baptist Church in Concord. |
